Master Class with James Alexander-Sinclair: The Healing Power of Garden Design — SOLD OUT
Members: $65. Non-members: $85.
October 27 @ 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Not to be missed: An unprecedented opportunity to learn in-person at CUH from James Alexander-Sinclair, FSGLD, one of Britain’s most accomplished and revered garden designers. He will detail the goals and processes for his project at Horatio’s Garden, a United Kingdom charity that commissions designers to create healing gardens at spinal injury treatment centers. The gardens serve as places of reflection, respite and joy for patients, staff and visitors alike. James will share insights about the project’s hardscaping choices, plant selection and planting design, and address the power of gardens to heal — physically, spiritually and emotionally.
Instructor’s bio: James is one of the most renowned garden designers in the UK. He has designed gardens from Cornwall to the Western Isles of Scotland, and from London to Luxembourg. In 2022 the RHS awarded him the prestigious Veitch Memorial Medal for his “outstanding contribution to the advancement and improvement of the science and practice of horticulture”. He served as a member of the Council of the Royal Horticultural Society for ten years and is currently an RHS vice-president and the Ambassador for Garden Design.
We are thrilled that James will be the featured presenter at two events in celebration of our 60th anniversary. Registration for the Celebration & Fundraiser on Thursday, October 29 will be live on Monday, September 14.
