Bess and Richie are back with tips and suggestions to help your garden look its best! They will share their gardening regrets, along with those delightful garden rewards, and their favorite plants for late summer color. Do you have questions? Now is the time to ask two of NHS’s experienced experts! Whether you are a beginner or seasoned gardener, you’ll leave with fresh ideas to keep your landscape thriving through late summer and beyond.
Speakers’ Bios:
Bess Bronstein is an ISA certified arborist, educator and horticultural consultant based on the Kitsap Peninsula in Kingston, Washington. She has 35 years of experience in arboriculture, landscape management and garden design. Bess was an instructor at the Edmonds College horticulture program for 28 years, with a focus on courses in pruning and tree care, plant identification, plant pests and diagnosis, and soils.
Richie Steffen, former president and board member of NHS, is enthusiastic about (or more accurately, obsessed with) plants. He is the executive director for the Elisabeth C. Miller Botanical Garden where he oversees the Garden, its rare plant collections and its primary educational program, Great Plant Picks.
