Gardens That Have Inspired Me with Stephen Orr
We are delighted to partner with the Northwest Flower & Garden Festival in welcoming accomplished garden writer, editor and media personality Stephen Orr to the Pacific Northwest as a Show Judge and speaker.
Please join us for drinks and conversation with Stephen and other garden enthusiasts before his presentation.
This event replaces the previously announced presentation from Frances Tophill, who will not be able to travel to Seattle due to unforeseen circumstances.
Seattle Convention Center, Room 307/308
Reception at 5:30 PM
Lecture at 6:00 PM to be followed by a Q&A session
While working as an editor at major home and garden magazines and writing three books, Stephen Orr traveled the world visiting many of its most significant and beautiful gardens. In this highly visual presentation, he will illuminate how these landscapes can inspire home gardeners — and share behind-the-scenes stories along the way.
Stephen served as an editor at Better Homes & Gardens, Martha Stewart Living, House & Garden, and Domino, and has been a frequent gardening expert on CBS’s The Early Show and NBC’s Today Show. He is the author of three books and lectures widely on horticultural topics across the country. Stephen lives and gardens on Cape Cod, where he writes about plants, places and the evolving role of gardens through his Substack and for his local newspaper, The Provincetown Independent. His most recent book, The Gardener’s Mindset: Connecting with Nature through Plants (Clarkson Potter), debuts in May, and is a collection of essays and photos that explore how gardening influences the way we think, feel and engage with the natural world.

This is a live event and will not be recorded.
This is an NHS fundraising event and your contributions will support our educational programs, community outreach grants and scholarships.
