We are very pleased to continue our tradition of hosting a Members’ Day at a local botanic garden – this year we are doing so at the unparalleled  Rhododendron Species Botanical Garden (RSBG). All members will have free access to the 22-acre garden on this special Members’ Day. This benefit allows members to connect with like-minded plant lovers and experience inspiring landscapes together. Members may register up to two guests, who will be asked to pay the entry fee upon arrival ($10 for adults, $7 for seniors and students). Please register if you plan to attend so we can get an accurate count for refreshments.

RSBG Executive Director Steve Hootman and Horticulturalist and Assistant Curator Will Clausen will give alternating tours on the hour, while Nursery Manager Atsuko Gibson will take us behind the scenes at the propagation houses. Additional botanical delights include the Victorian Stumpery, Rutherford Conservatory, Alpine Garden, and the Pacific Bonsai Museum that is just steps away. Other June highlights are the in-bloom Kalmia latifolia (mountain laurel) and the striking new silver-blue leaves on Zenobia pulverulenta (honeycup). We encourage you to make a day of it: bring your lunch and picnic at the Rutherford Conservatory Terrace, enjoy drinks and cookies provided by NHS, peruse the gift shop and plants for sale in the nursery.
